Blog Archive - June 2010 Happy Birthday GoGo - 6th this month.
Yes you read that right ScrapaGoGo is about to hit six years old! Looking back to that very first kit does make us smile, we have grown so much and in so many ways these past six years and what a journey it has been. We would like to thank customers past, present and future for supporting us; without you we would not have grown to what we are today:D We have decided that we simply must mark this 6th birthday in some way and of course those celebrations could not go by without some scrapping involved, so here is our first challenge of the month - and yes there will be prizes!!! To enter simply use the sketch above as inspiration to create a LO, card or project; comment below and link to your creation to be in with a chance to be picked at random to win a prize:D Read More

Just The Two Of Us
Using CREATE, G2P and HYBRIDS
This photo captures the moment when we entered our cruise cabin, having been travelling for a good few hours. Our first 'adult' holiday in years, we couldn't resist the obligatory "hold the camera at arms length and shoot" pose!
I used the smooch mist in a more traditional manor, lightly covering the reverse of the Jillibean Soup kraft with fine spray.
I used the purple zing embossing powder to edge the ribbon, by using a cutlery knife to apply pressure to the ribbon over an embossing pad and then gathered up the ribbon to give a ruffled effect.

Going Round!
We are nearly at the end of June's showcase and we do hope you have enjoyed it and have found the designs and ideas inspirational. We are planning our 6th birthday celebrations at present and will be ready to share real soon but for now we leave you with a fun LO by Helen Miles.
Made using June's Create kit.
The main starting point for this layout was the supremely immense Cosmo Cricket 'Round About' paper, the circles are superb for cutting out and layering down the page to create balance wherever it's needed, I've used my trusty pinking shears for lush edging.
They also provide great mats for embellishments and a curvy guideline for your titles, not to mention they makes perfect 'o's!
The border paper is fabulous and some of the strips are ..... Read MoreWritten by Lorraine Ablett - 28th June 2010 The Cat's Pyjamas
CREATE, G2P, STAMP and BESPOKE CARDS
It's amazing how when something happens in our lives, we tend to go overboard on the camera... be it holiday, new baby or in this case, a kitten called Lulu.
At the moment, everything she does seems so cute, so she didn't get much choice when I needed a 'driver' for this photo shoot!
I used the stamp as a photo mount, gutting the central section and then using foam stickers to give depth to the layout, adding the cute Cosmo Cricket stickers and one of the bespoke cards.
Having finished the layout, I decided that the area to the right hand side was looking a bit empty, so added ribbon which I stuck with a rippled effect to balance the layering on the left hand side.

Back In Time
June 2010 - Create, Stamp, Bespoke Cards & Greetings
These photos were taken on the Primeval Whirl ride at Animal Kingdom, Florida. The ride halts for a minute or two before spinning madly "back in time !" to the dinosaur age.
This months stamp was exactly what I needed to create clock faces on the Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride round about paper.I just masked off the frame so I could use the clock hands.
I also removed a few of the coloured circles and backed them with the Cosmo Cricket are we nearly there yet paper applied with foam pads to get some depth . The ..... Read More

Cars
Made using June's Create, G2P and Hybrids.
I just love the puffy gorgeousness that is the puffy flowers from American Crafts. They deserve special attention so I added them as a funky border across the bottom of the pics, sticking on lots of other sticker goodness and my title.
I wanted to keep the colour scheme bright and fun on this one, since the pics are from a trip to Disney, it seemed only right! The hybrid frame makes a great finishing touch, it also helps that it looks like a wheel, all round and bumpy!

Running On Empty
JUNE 2010 CREATE, G2P, HYBRIDS, & BESPOKE DESIGN CARDS
The little fuel gauge from the Hybrids this month inspired me to create this layout. I had this photo of my son fast asleep totally shattered in the car after a long day out at a theme park in Florida, and that gave me the idea for the "Running on Empty" idea and title.
The Smooch spray gave the suitcase it's slightly mottled slightly sparkly sheen. I created the title using the Jenni Bowlin Bingo card alphas, raising them on 3D foam pads for extra dimension. And the rather cute "Love Bug" Bespoke Design Card added a little personal thought about how sweet he looked asleep.

GoGo Year Book - June Entry
Wow!! Half way through the Year ..hope you are all still playing along and enjoying the project as much as I am.
So without further ado here are my June Yearbook pages ....
How gorgeous is that hybrid frame on the top page ...I love it and do you know what ?? I had all but used up my kits for my DT designs but with the hybrids you can always have enough for your Yearbook ;)
I have included some pics of the garden plants as it really is in full bloom at the moment and Junes kit rises to the challenge perfectly even though it doesn't first appear a flowery kit with the aid of the embossing powder and a Versamark pen I drew some simple flowers and finished with a button from the Greetings kit.
Another little embossed element a simple doodled frame for the pic of Lulu and Ivan ..... Read More

Ticket To Ride
By now most of you will have your hands of June's Kit, we hope you are enjoying it as much as Team GoGo did...
At nearly 2 years old Hannah was a big fan of Noddy so the opportunity to take a ride with Noddy in his little yellow car was not to be missed. I adore the look of sheer delight that has been captured in these photos.
The yellow Brook Ripple Crate paper is so bright and cheerful that it seem a perfect fit for the photos with the Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride Pit Stop and Jillibean Soup New England Chowder Diced Cooked Potato papers keeping it from overwhelming the photos.
Having split the MR chipboard car for my Hot Wheels LO and then decided not to use them it seemed silly not to make use of one for this LO, obviously a little body work aka cutting down, reshaping together with a little paper piecing and finished off with ..... Read More

These photos of Hannah taking her cousins for a
spin in their new wheels has been on a ‘nearly finished but I don’t
really like it’ LO for a long time but no amount of tweaking seemed to
fix it. That was until I got my hands on June’s kit.
A combination of elements form the Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride Borders sheet
together with the Hybrid Elements, Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride Cardstock
Stickers and a couple of the Bespoke Design Cards plus a bit of
customizing were perfect for these picture.

Sunset Travels

Made Using 'Are We Nearly There Yet!' June Kit Create, G2P & Hybrids
I love a nice sunset, but I love a sunset with palm trees more !! This was taken on a recent trip to Florida.
I'm sure we all sometimes shy away from using unusual supplies but I still could not wait to try the
Smooch Spritz, so I used the Cosmo Cricket alphabet as a mask &
sprayed over them on to a rectangle of card. When dry I removed the
letters and outlined the letters left behind. I must admit I'm really pleased with
this effect.

Greetings Card by Sam
Male Greeting Card
designed by Sam Ball
Made Using 'Are We Nearly There Yet!' June Greetings Kit
Having been inspired by a recent birthday card
I received, which heavily featured cut-out areas, I decided to create a
similar look using the all over vehicles paper, which gave me plenty of
scope for cutting away areas to leave an almost lacy effect.
I marked out a small border on the paper and cut away, and then gutted
the front of the card, leaving enough to stick ..... Read More
